Savannah Book Festival Author Visits SAA!

Each year, the Savannah Book Festival generously provides SCCPSS schools with guest authors from the Festival. As always, we were especially grateful to be included and to welcome award-winning journalist and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Kate Fagan to Savannah Arts Academy.

During her visit, Kate spoke with students about her writing process, journalism, nonfiction and fiction writing, and the role of motivation and creativity. Of particular interest to our students, she spoke about the drive to create work that is meaningful and lasting. Kate's genuine openness and approachability gave our students the chance to engage in thoughtful, constructive conversations about writing and the arts.

We are grateful to Kate Fagan for spending time with our students and to the Savannah Book Festival for continuing to provide this incredible opportunity for SCCPSS schools. A special thank-you to Syd Britt, SBF volunteer, for joining us and for bringing Kate to our school!
