New State Policy
Students may not have cell phones or electronic devices at any time during the school day
This is a 'bell to bell' policy, and prohibits cell phone use during class time, transitions, lunch, etc
New SCCPSS Policy
The Board emphasizes that these updates are designed to support student learning, safety, and responsible technology use. PLEASE NOTE: these updates apply to all personal chromebooks, iPads, and laptops as well. All students will have access to district-issued devices.
Phone Storage
Phones should be powered off and stored in the school provided pouch at all times during the school day!
Cell phones will be placed in a storage pouch provided by the school district before entering the building in the morning & unlocked at the end of the day.
Electronic Devices Should Stay at Home
Personal electronic devices should stay at home.
This includes smart watches, smart glasses, air pods, personal tablets, and other communication devices.
These items cannot be brought to school. The pouch is only large enough for the cell phone.
Non-compliance
Devices will be confiscated and returned only to parents or guardians during a scheduled conference.
Additionally, violation consequences will result in progressive discipline as outlined in the Code of Conduct.
