Dr. Ana Zurita Receives 2026 National Teacher of the Year Award by AATSP!

Savannah Arts Academy congratulates Dr. Ana Zurita on receiving the 2026 National Teacher of the Year Award

Savannah Arts Academy is proud to congratulate Dr. Ana Zurita, Spanish teacher and advisor of the Hispanic Honor Society, on being named the 2026 National Teacher of the Year by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).

Selected after a nationwide competition among outstanding Spanish educators from across the United States, Dr. Zurita received the association's highest honor in recognition of her excellence in teaching, her dedication to students, and her contributions to the profession.

The award held special personal meaning, as Dr. Zurita was able to celebrate this achievement with her family and lifelong friends in Spain, who have supported her throughout her career despite the many years she has lived abroad.

"This recognition is not only a personal honor but also a tribute to my students and to Savannah Arts Academy. I feel privileged to contribute to the academic excellence and outstanding reputation of this remarkable school," Dr. Zurita said.
