Congratulations Dr. Zurita!

After a highly competitive review of outstanding and exceptional credentials from across the state, the Georgia Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP) has selected our very own, Dr. Ana Zurita, as the 2026 High School Teacher of the Year.

Thank you for your outstanding contributions to our profession and for your long years of dedication to Georgia language learners!

This prestigious honor recognizes excellence in language instruction, professional leadership, and dedicated service to students. Dr. Zurita will be formally recognized during the Georgia AATSP affiliate meeting on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Foreign Language Association of Georgia (FLAG) Conference in Atlanta. The award will also be announced during the FLAG luncheon later that day.

In addition, Dr. Zurita has been encouraged to apply for the national 2026 AATSP Teacher of the Year award, with a submission deadline of March 15, 2026.
